Ruby Red Lips

I feel you in my dreams every night

You're always there, just out of sight

Who you are I do not know

Nor where you come from or where you go

You're a mystery woman who haunts my mind

But no trace of your existence I can find

Are you a dream or are you real

For sometimes your presence I think I can feel

An invisible force watching over me

Omnipresent being that I cannot see

Daylight hides you from my searching eyes

But when night falls I hear your gentle cries

Whispering soft words in my ears

I can feel the moisture from your tears

Soothing the pain that ravages my body like fire

Those words you say drain my heart's desire

Encouraging me to let go of my existence here

Time is ticking and the open door is near

Your face comes into view and I can see you are real

As soft breath on my face I can feel

You are an angel, but not of life, only death

And you lean over me as I take my last breath

I finally get to kiss those ruby red lips

And out of this body my spirit slowly slips
