Ocean Waves Goodbye

The echo of your smile fades
With the light behind your eyes
And your soul slowly disappears
As your body shuts down and dies

My final farewell to you my love
As I remove my hands from your neck
A tear trickles down your cheek
As I lay you on the deck

Sailing out to the deepest grave
I lift you in my arms once more
And lower you in to the water so cold
Now destined for the ocean floor

A watery farewell I bid you my love
As I fire up the engine to go
Sailing back to my life of lies and deceit
Of your whereabouts I do not know

I fish the ocean once every year
On the anniversary of your demise
Not in celebration of your love or life
But to relive the light fading from your eyes
