Cover Girl
She lives on the covers of magazines
And adorns the pages in various scenes
She has an outfit for every page
And dreams of one day being on the stage
Travelling the world to far off places
Photos' being taken wearing different faces
Fame and fortune in her hand
Living the life she always planned
Adoring fans showing her affection
Her career is going in only one direction
Celebrity appearances on TV
This is where she always wanted to be
Dreams and aspirations take you so far
Hard work and dedication may make you a star
Sometimes it may be just by chance
You're lucky enough to catch someone's glance
But reality beckons and she clears her head
He's paid his money and he climbs onto the bed
Then stares at her, drooling like a pig at a trough
As she stands there slowly taking her clothes off

This was my first new poem that I had written in over 20 years! My inspiration had returned after all this time.
Inspired by a song called "She Takes Her Clothes Off" by Stereophonics.
